What’s the purpose behind our business?
The connection between resale and environmental sustainability isn’t immediately clear. But it’s the reason why we do what we do. Reducing our environmental impact as consumers is one of the best ways to take care of our earth, making it healthier and more sustainable for everyone.
Shopping resale is one of the smartest and easiest ways to live more sustainably and intentionally. The apparel industry is incredibly resource-intensive and wasteful, so the best way to combat this is to reduce demand for new items. Shopping resale helps extend the life of existing items and reduce the need for new ones to be made. This makes even more sense with kids’ clothes, because as all parents know, kids grow so quickly that their clothes still have a lot of life left in them. At Merry Go Rounds, we make it easy to extend the life of kids’ clothes that are still in great shape, so we can all play a small part in reducing our impact (while also being good for our budget).
We strive to make the earth a better place for current and future generations. Through our business, we hope to reduce waste, promote conscious consumption, and keep resources within our local community.
